Community Relations

Lt. Lance Koppa serves as the Community Relations Officer for the Highland Park Department of Public Safety. In this capacity, he leads the department’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with the community, support crime‑prevention initiatives, and provide safety and educational programming across police, fire, and EMS. He also coordinates Crime Watch activities, coordinates presentations at the firehouse, addresses community welfare concerns, and provides presentations away from the department. Lance serves as the department’s liaison to Highland Park ISD, ensuring consistent communication and collaboration with local schools. 

Media Relations

Alongside his community engagement responsibilities, Lt. Koppa serves as the Public Information Officer for Highland Park DPS. He is the department’s primary representative to local, regional, and national media, providing timely, accurate information that supports transparency and keeps the community well‑informed.
