Not Guilty Juror

A phone call is placed to an individual notifying them that they failed to turn up for jury duty, and the caller asks for personal information so the court can cancel an arrest warrant. The scammer will sound convincing, official, and use aggressive language as part of the scam. Often, the phone calls appear to originate from the area code from which the potential victim lives.

Self Defense

Don’t give personal details like credit card or social security numbers. Should you have a question about jury duty, contact the court directly. Courts never seek personal items over the phone. If in doubt, contact the court directly and report the incident to the police.
