Flood Insurance

NFIP Website

The Town of Highland Park participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This means that federally subsidized flood insurance is available to all residents. NFIP works closely with private insurance companies to offer flood insurance to property owners and renters in communities across the United States. The program sets the insurance rates based on factors such as date and type of home construction, and level of risk to the building.

Basic homeowner's insurance policies do not cover flood damage, so many homeowner's purchase federal flood insurance. A flood insurance policy must be renewed each year.
