Potomac Avenue/ Auburndale Avenue Improvement Project

The Town of Highland Park will be initiating the Potomac Avenue/Auburndale Avenue Improvement Project to reconstruct the roadway and improve stormwater facilities to mitigate localized flooding. 

Estimated Start Date: September 2025 

The project includes:

  • Traffic control signs and detours
  • Pre-construction inspection and video recording of site conditions
  • Installation of stormwater infrastructure
  • Full-depth reconstruction of Potomac Avenue and Auburndale Avenue pavement
  • Sidewalk improvements

Locations included:

  • 3400 Blocks Potomac Avenue (Key Street to Hillcrest Avenue)
  • 5500 Block Auburndale Avenue (Mockingbird Lane to Potomac Avenue)

Contractor: SYB Construction Co., Inc.

Estimated Cost: $2,335,000

What to Expect: 

  • Notices will be given to residents in advance of any planned roadway/driveway interruptions.
  • Some noise and limited roadway access is expected during work hours (7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, excluding Town holidays). Some Saturday work may occur.
  • Trash and recycling pickup will continue as scheduled, with minor adjustments as needed.
