    Oh, the fun you’ll have at the Highland Park Library as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday during Toddler Story Time on Thursday, March 5. Rhymes, counting, songs and classic stories by the extraordinary Dr. Seuss will be featured. Children may dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.

    Toddler Story Time is designed for 2-year olds and their caregivers.

  4. Authors LIVE! Dave Barry, author of Live Right and Find Happiness

    March 9, 7:00 PM @ Authors LIVE! is co-sponsored by The Friends of the Highland Park Library, Highland Park United Methodist Church and The Friends of the SMU Libraries.


    In brilliant, brand-new, never-before-published pieces, Dave Barry, a Pulitzer Prize winner and bestselling author, passes on home truths to his new grandson and to his daughter, Sophie, who will be getting her learner’s permit in 2015. By the end of the book, if you do not feel wiser, richer in knowledge, more attuned to the universe . . . we wouldn’t be at all surprised. But you’ll have had a lot to laugh about!

From racial inequality and conflict between the North and South to questions of state sovereignty or the role of government in social change--these issues, McPherson shows, are as salient and controversial today as they were in the 1860s.
